Nedmag Industries extracts magnesium chloride from salt deposits at a depth of over 1500 metres in the north of The Netherlands. These magnesium salts are brought to the surface by a unique method of solution mining. The salt layer is of such a size that even if current annual production would be doubled, the reserves would still guarantee uninterrupted supply for hundreds of years.

Close by, built almost above these salt formations, also sits the dead burned magnesia plant of Nedmag Industries. The Company is the leading producer of high purity synthetic dead burned magnesia in Europe.

The products made by Nedmag can be divided into four groups:

magnesium oxide (MgO)

magnesium chloride (MgCl2)

magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2)

calcium chloride (CaCl2)
