Mag spinel refractories
The typical chemical composition of nedMag 99 makes this material the ideal sinter for all magnesia-spinel formulations - low boron and silica content ensures a second phase without low melting compounds and the inherently low calcium-oxide content helps to prevent reactions with the spinel component, which would result in the formation of undesired calcium aluminates. The effect of the relatively high iron content (0.5 %m/m) is an interesting phenomenon, because it enhances sintering, helps to prevent hydration, and binds extra calcium oxide.
Mag Carbon refractories
With its high purity and density nedMag 99 HD is the ideal sinter for heavy duty mag-carbon bricks. The low boron and silica content and the favourable C/S ratio ensure a second phase that does not contain low melting compounds. With a minimum density of 3.43 g/cm3, the sinter is ideally suited to mag-carbon converter bricks, ladle linings and specialty refractory parts.
